REDDITCH WESTERNERS ROUND-UP 2007
Round/up Newsletter.
Dear Westerners,
It seems a long time since the Round/up and looking back we were very lucky with the weather. The daytime entertainment was a great success and kept those wishing to dance happy, while others participated in a variety of events.
The usual Western themed events were enjoyed by everyone and there was keen competition for the trophies awarded for Horseshoe Pitching, Hawk Throwing, (not the feathered kind) and archery, as for knife throwing it's a case of don't give up the day job, well done to all who took part and congratulations to the winners.
The shootout was as usual three separate events the normal best of three styles was won by Lefty, the walk and draw was won by Mucho, (for the second year running) and the authentic style Thumbusting, was won by The Goose, once again stiff competition led to a shootout to decide the overall champion this being won by Lefty.
I don't have any figures but I believe we were sold out, and with each event more people wish to join The Redditch Westerners, this is mainly due to the hard work of the committee and a few helpers who make this one of the best clubs in the Midlands, and I thank them for their continuing efforts on our behalf.
Due to unforeseen circumstances The Blue Rodeo, had to be cancelled. We are working toward staging the event in 2008, and currently assessing the possible options, sadly we have not been able to have a club night in August, so our next gig is on September the Fifteenth I hope to see you all there.
