Where are we?
The home of the Redditch Westerners, Country and Western Club is Stoke Prior Sports and Country Club, Weston Hall Road, Stoke Prior, Bromsgrove, Worcestershire.
As a group of country and western enthusiasts we hold regular club nights as well as the annual "Round Up" at Stoke Prior (June) and the Blue Rodeo festival at Stratford Racecourse (August). Both our Redditch Westerners Facebook page and the specific Blue Rodeo Facebook pages contains details of the events and access to booking information. Why not come along and join our festival or one of our club nights. There is plenty of Country music with great groups, socialising, dancing and many other activities. In addition our festival allows you to meet up with friends from across the country or make new friends with Country and Western interests, brings that opportunity to increase your western gear by picking up that bargain or just relax and listen to some good music. Please don't be afraid to come and join us whether you are a first time westerner or a seasoned veteran. All are welcome to our truly family events.
The Redditch Westerners welcomes everyone from the Country and Western scene whether you embrace the full experience wearing traditional dress, come along for the Line Dancing, enjoy the music or just come along to socialise with friends. All are welcome to come and experience our events and club nights.
Please come and join us on the Redditch Westerners Group at Facebook.com/redditch westerners for information about forth coming events, club nights and general westerner chat. In addition the Redditch Westerners Association also has a Facebook page specifically for the Blue Rodeo at Stratford Racecourse where you can share your experiences (hopefully all good) with fellow festival attendees. The Redditch Westerners Association will continue to publish future events and club night details on this web page and also on our Facebook pages.
Have a look through our pages like us on Facebook, but more than that come and try our festival and club nights. This year our festival moves back into the middle of the racecourse with use of all the amenities. New members are always welcome so see Y'all around
The Redditch Westerners Association was formed in 1998, and is now, one of the largest western clubs in the Midlands. It has an annually elected committee. Since the formation of the club and its inaugural meeting we have gone from strength to strength. The club’s membership is not limited to “Authentic” Westerners only (but our conversion rate is quite good) nor is it limited to people in and around the Redditch area, as we are attracting members from much further afield, and youngsters are encouraged as they are the westerners of the future.
The Redditch Westerners Association runs monthly country music nights at Stoke Prior Sports and Country Club, (see Gig Guide) and we have a reputation for creating a great atmosphere at these evenings. We are also the organising body for the BLUE RODEO held every August at Stratford upon Avon Racecourse. This is without a doubt, one of the most popular Country Music Festivals in the region, with a whole range of displays and western experiences for you to enjoy, as well as some great live country music. Then of course there was always the Redditch Westerners Show Team. Alas no longer functioning due to "old Age", Travelling up and down the country with our 45 foot Trailer unit in tow, courtesy of
“Trucker” of JAM Transport in Birmingham. With 100+ feet of Western Town Frontage, a full size “Chuck Wagon” and Travelling Medicine Show wagon and our full size Palomino called Blaze, plus all the usual paraphernalia to add to the effect, it all made for an impressive backdrop to our western shows. The Redditch westerners are a hard working, well organised bunch of western enthusiasts who believe in maximum effort for maximum enjoyment, and we make no apologies for enjoying ourselves. If you are a like minded westerner, or someone who would like to become involved in a club like ours, then don’t be shy, get in touch.
