Governed by an elected committee, the club has gone from strength to strength since its inaugural meeting.
The club’s membership is not limited to “Authentic” westerners only (but our conversion rate is quite good) nor is it limited to people in and around the Redditch area, we are attracting members from much further afield, and youngsters are encouraged as they are the westerners of the future.
The Redditch Westerners Association runs monthly country music nights, and we have a reputation for creating a great atmosphere at these evenings. We are also the organising body for the BLUE RODEO held every August at Beacon Park Lichfield. This is without a doubt, one of the best Country Music Festivals in the country, with a whole range of displays and western experiences for you to enjoy, as well as some great live country music.
Then of course if you are the theatrical type, well a show off anyway, there is always the Redditch Westerners Show Team. Travelling up and down the country with our 45 foot Trailer unit in tow, courtesy of “Trucker” of JAM Transport in Birmingham. With 100+ feet of Western Town Frontage, a full size “Chuck Wagon” and our full size Palomino called Blaze, and all the usual paraphernalia to add to the effect, it makes for an impressive backdrop to our western shows. Add to this, our new for 2004 Travelling Medicine Show Wagon, able to support a full show in its own right, and we can cover almost any eventuality.
The Redditch westerners are a hard working, well organised bunch of western enthusiasts who believe in maximum effort for maximum enjoyment, and we make no apologies for enjoying ourselves.
If you are a like minded westerner, or someone who would like to become involved in a club like ours, then don’t be shy, get in touch.
